We were delighted to hear that we have been shortlisted in the EK&B Business Awards, with the innovative Abode Swich.
The EK&B Business Awards recognise the best of the best in the KBB industry, with Abode Swich highlighted due to its ability to easily convert any normal kitchen tap into one that can deliver filtered water as well as mains water.
At a time when the need to reduce the amount of plastic going to landfill has never been greater, Abode Swich can help save around 2,290 plastic water bottles per year, based on the average household consumption.
Nominated in the Best Kitchen Innovation Category at this year's awards, Abode will now go through to the final, with the overall winner to be announced at a ceremony in London in November.

Abode has won the Best in Kitchen & Bathroom Accessories award in the Luxury Travel Guide's 2019 Lifestyle Awards, which showcases the very best brands that enable affluent travellers to bring the benefits of their trip into everyday life.
Luxury Travel Guide (LTG) contributors and readers were invited to nominate brands and products they felt deserved recognition, with the LTG team putting forward a selection of companies that have excelled within key industries. The judging panel agreed on Abode as the deserving winner of the Best in Kitchen & Bathroom Accessories award.
As an award winner Abode's details will feature in the 2019 Global Winner's publication, available in executive airport lounges around the world.

The Dune family of granite sinks from Abode with their stunning ripple effect drainers have been shortlisted in this year’s House Beautiful Awards. There are four sinks within the Dune range of reversible granite sinks which have a strong organic design style to them, featuring rounded corners, sumptuous bowls and a stunning ripple effect, practical drainer pattern. These creative features are the back-bone to the design which are right ‘on trend’ with current kitchen design trends.
These granite inset sinks will form a focal point in any kitchen, be it modern or traditional in style. There are four sinks within the range, two in an eye-catching striking Black Granite and two in a contemporary Frost White Granite, in popular single and 1.5 deep bowls with single drainers. All sinks are 1000mm in length and 500mm wide and come complete with the Abode Orbit strainer waste, overflow pipework and clips, ready for installation.

Abode is delighted to win yet another Gold Design Award at the annual Designer Kitchen & Bathroom Awards 2016 Ceremony.
This year the award was for our creatively designed PRONTEAU 4 in 1 hot water kitchen tap which we launched earlier this year. The Award entry was within the 'Innovation in Functionality' category.
The Gold Award is the highest classification received by manufacturers for products in the 'Product Innovation' arena. Products acheiving the Gold standard have been judged to be real innovators within their particular product category.

Here at Abode, one of the UK's largest kitchen sinks, taps, bathroom brassware and shower manufacturers have been shortlisted as a finalist in the Essential Kitchen & Bathroom Business magazine Awards 2016.
The new PRONTEAU 4 in 1 hot water tap is featured in the 'Star Product of the Year' - Kitchen category and is shortlisted along with six other major companies.
Abode's collection of five PRONTEAU 4 in 1 kitchen taps provide designs for modern or traditional-style kitchens. The mixer taps deliver 80° to 98° filtered steaming hot water as well as filtered cold water and also features a child-safe HotKey. When the HotKey fob is removed, the delivery of steaming hot water is stopped instantly.
The results of the company's winning Awards will be known on Thursday, 1st December with the ceremony taking place at the Brewery function suite in London.
The latest innovation from us here at Abode is Pronteau, a range of taps catering for every water need in the kitchen. There are five new designs of mixertaps withing the range offering all the benefits of standard kitchen mixers but with the addition of pH balanced, limescale free filtered cold and 80-90° filtered steaming hot water, on demand, 24/7.
The new range incorporates the technologically advanced British manufactured PROBOIL3 boiler unit which is an intelligent and compact, self-diagnostic boiler with a 3kW element for fast recovery times to deliver over 50 cups an hour. The tank, which sits comfortably under the sink, is manufactured from stainless steel to avoid tainted water tastes from copper or plastics.
The boiler temperature can be set at between 80-98°, so the user never gets a cold cup of tea or coffee - guaranteed! According to the UK Tea & Infusions Association, a normal black tea should be made with water boiled to 90.6° and other speciality teas between 90.6 up to 97.8° so as not to burn the tea leaves. Similarly, the Black Bear Micro Roastery recommend that the optimum brewing temperature of water for coffee should be 96°, never at 100° as this will scald the coffee.
At 98° Pronteau delivers water in a structured and controlled way, eliminating spitting and spurting.
All of the five new mixertaps come complete with a patented child safe HotKey function to prevent accidental harm. Hot water will not be dispensed unless the HotKey is placed in proximity to the front of the tap. The 360° spout always remains cool and safe to the touch as the hot water runs through a central insulated channel inside of the spout.
We are offering a nationwide network and commissioning service to consumers and retailers alike for installation and furture servicing requirements. For those who want to do it themselves Abode have commissioned a range of videos offering simple tips and advice such as changing a filter, descaling the system, right up to a full engineer and diagnostics.

Paul Illingworth, Design Manager at Abode has been selected as one of 20 industry designers who, Designer Kitchen & Bathroom magazine feel, 'the industry should know about'.
The D-List comprises designers from some of the most innovative and inventive bathroom and kitchen companies. Martin Smith, editor of the magazine states: "What all 20 D-Listers have in common is that their work inspires and encourages others to continue to raise the bar in innovative design in kitchens and bathrooms, constantly suggesting new ways of utilising clever design to tackle problems old and new".
Paul has been in the industry for over 17 years and with Abode for nine years. Working closely with Darren Holliday, owner of Abode, he has been prolific in developing a wide range of innovative products for the brand. He has extensive and varied product experience that has led to significant sales success and numerous product awards for Abode - to name a few products, Fliq, Verla and Zucca kitchen taps, the unusual Tydal sink and Orbit sink waste. For the bathroom, Decadence taps plus the unique thermostatic valve concept, Tempeau.
Paul is elated and feels honoured to be one of the first to hit the Designer K&B magazine D-List. He comments: "My approach to design has certainly become more subtle over the years and I think that as one matures you start to gather a wider appreciation for the design likes and dislikes of others and these automatically filter into your work, whereas I think the younger version of myself, designed more selfishly. I still probably get the greatest joys from solving annoying or fiddly design problems with the simplest solutions, these are the daily successes - in between the big product launches".
We are delighted to announce that the unique Verla monobloc kitchen tap has been nominated for the 2015 Kbbreview Design Awards within the 'Kitchen Product Innovation of the Year' section.
Verla is an innovative new take on kitchen mixer tap styling with a unique 'V' shaped body design. The smooth curved radii of the tap comes together perfectly from the architecturally tall spout design, to the easy-to-operate style handles. Manufactured in Chrome and Brushed Nickel, Verla is pure design, distinctly stylish and certainly a tap to stand out from the crowd.
The Awards ceremony takes place on March 16th.
The concept of Tempeau from Abode was born partially from legislation changes to thermostatic bathing safety and partially from on-going conversations with the public and installers.
Thermostatic showers have long since been increasing in popularity in the UK, but when thermostatic regulations came into force there were, and still remains, very few options available to customers. In addition many options available can be time consuming for the plumber to install and therefore costly or involve the need for two thermostatic valves to be purchased, which again can be costly.
So, at the heart of our concept is the Tempeau thermostatic valve design, which has been designed and created to deliver the following elements:
Firstly to ensure thermostatic safety is delivered to both bathing and showering experience alike.
Secondly to be significantly faster and easier to install and maintain compared to existing wall mounted solutions, Tempeau is connected to the underside of the bath and so, dependent upon the configuration, the installer doesn’t have to channel out the wall to recess a valve or replace any tiles, the idea was to create an installers dream, allowing them to move onto the next job quicker.
Thirdly to allow the user to obtain the best possible flow performance from the UK’s notoriously low pressure hot water systems.
And finally, to be intrinsically simple to understand and easy to order. All the customer has to do is choose the style of kit configuration and the design of the hand wheels required from the offer.
The result is an easy to install, carefully selected combination of bathing and showering kits where all the clever stuff is hidden away under the bath so all the customer sees is the minimal unobtrusive controls, design co-ordinated to any of the bathroom style families.
Abode has developed and launched Triana – an elegant, patented single lever Aquifier filter water tap, finished in both Chrome and Brushed Nickel. The tall, slender sweeping swan neck spout and smooth tapered body create a tap of modern day elegance.
The Triana has advanced water filtration technology and by a flick of the wrist, twisting the black ring on the stem of the tap allows clean, pure filtered water to run from a separate part of the spout. No extra handles are required and no bottled water ever to be purchased again. Hot and cold water are available as normal using the single lever.
The Abode Aquifier Safelock cartridge fits neatly under the sink. The filter cartridge reduces the presence of chlorines, alcohols, bleach and detergents to improve the taste, clarity and odour of water, delivering refreshing ‘clear’ filter water.

With a tried and tested secure online nomination and voting process, BKU announce their first ever finalists and Abode have been nominated for Awards in two categories, 'Best Bathroom Taps Brand' and 'Best Kitchen Sinks Brand'.
The results of the companies winning Awards will be known on Thursday 25th June when the ceremony takes place at Madame Tussauds in London.
